Microlek Skills Academy, a subsidiary of Microlek — Electronics and Telecom, was founded in 2007 in Pretoria, South Africa, and has grown into an independent training institution with an active pan-African expansion, reaching students Africa-wide and globally. We are your career builder, delivering internationally benchmarked skills, credentials, and career outcomes since 2007.
Led by Lead Instructor Lorenzo, an Electrical Engineer with 17+ years of hands-on repair experience, Microlek has trained over 600 graduates in practical, income-generating electronics and mobile repair skills.
Our curriculum covers electronic components, circuit calculations, soldering, fault-finding, and safe working practices — benchmarked against internationally recognised training frameworks including the UK's BTEC National Certificate and Australia's Certificate II in Computer Assembly and Repair. Do I need any prior experience to enrol?
All courses award a Microlek Certificate of Completion — Microlek's own independent credential, benchmarked against international training standards including the UK's BTEC National Certificate and Australia's Certificate II in Computer Assembly and Repair. This is not a government-recognised (NQF/SAQA) qualification. Every certificate has a unique verification ID employers can confirm online.
Are the courses online, in-person, or both?
Both. Our Academy online courses (academy.microlek.com) are fully online with pre-recorded video lessons and live Zoom sessions. Our Deals courses (deals.microlek.co.za) include in-person practical sessions at our Pretoria training facility. The Full Training Course (FT100) requires in-person attendance in Pretoria for practical sessions.
What certificate will I receive and is it recognised?

How do I pay and what payment methods are accepted?
We accept PayFast (Visa, Mastercard, Instant EFT, SnapScan, Capitec Pay), Ozow (Instant EFT), PayPal (international students), Stripe (international credit cards), and direct bank transfer (EFT). Contact us at training@microlek.com for a corporate invoice.
Can my company enrol multiple employees?
Absolutely. We offer corporate and group training packages for 5 or more staff members. We can customise the curriculum, provide HR progress reports, and issue company-branded certificates. Contact training@microlek.com for a tailored proposal within 2 business days.
Can I study if I am based outside South Africa?
Yes — our online courses are available to students anywhere in Africa and globally. We teach in English and French. Students from Cameroon, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, DRC, Côte d'Ivoire, and many other countries have completed our courses.
What is the refund policy?
We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee if you have not accessed more than 20% of the course content. Refunds are processed within 5 to 10 business days. Contact training@microlek.com with your order reference number.
